Yesterday evening, I had the pleasure of trying The Loft’s new festive dinner menu in Street. Upon arrival, I was warmly greeted at the door by Mark, the owner. If you’ve ever dined at The Loft, you’ll know they go above and beyond to deliver a first-class dining experience, and last night was no exception. Their team’s enthusiasm and passion are truly contagious, elevating the entire experience.
If you’re not feeling the Christmas spirit yet, a visit to The Loft will certainly change that. The interior is visually stunning throughout the year, but during the festive season, it becomes even more enchanting. From the lighting to the seating arrangements, Mark and his team’s incredible attention to detail set the tone for an exceptional evening — and that’s before we even talk about the food!
With a variety of options on their festive menu, I decided to go for the traditional roast featuring Somerset turkey with all the trimmings. I couldn’t resist adding a side of extra roast potatoes, though, as it turned out, they weren’t necessary! The main dish came generously packed with roasties, but I happily polished off both portions. There was no way I was letting any of this delicious food go to waste.
Every component of the Christmas dinner was flawlessly executed. The turkey was tender and juicy, the roast potatoes had perfectly crispy exteriors and fluffy centers, and the gravy was rich and flavorful. It delivered everything you’d hope for in a festive meal — and then some! Despite feeling full, I saved just enough room for dessert. Knowing how consistently good their desserts are, skipping one wasn’t an option.
Naturally, I chose the traditional Christmas pudding with brandy sauce. While I’ve previously opted for their daily cheesecake (a dessert worthy of its own glowing review), the holiday season called for something festive. The pudding, accompanied by brandy sauce and honeycomb, was the perfect finale to an outstanding meal.
Unsurprisingly, I can’t recommend The Loft in Street highly enough.
