Queen of Cups boasts a meticulously crafted menu, each dish a testament to the culinary artistry of Executive Chef and co-founder Ayesha Kalaji. Her unique vision has garnered recognition, including a Michelin Bib Gourmand and a ‘Best Newcomer’ nomination at the Estrella Damm Top 100 Gastropubs 2023. My exploration began with the laverbread falafel, a delightful interplay of textures and flavours. Sumac, lime fennel, and tahini danced on the palate, offering a vibrant introduction to the meal.
The main course, crispy hogget, presented a symphony of tastes. The succulent meat paired perfectly with the kamouneh-spiced heart skewer, each bite infused with depth and complexity. Celeriac puree, green shatta, and bitter leaves provided a refreshing counterpoint, completing the culinary masterpiece.
